3 Female Police Officers Attacked and Stripped, While On Duty in Edo.

Three female police officers were attacked, beaten and stripped while on duty by residents of Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo State on Wednesday.

According to the Nation, the incident occurred when a landlady, identified as Mrs. Okebuse, called the police to arrest one of her tenants who was given a quit notice. When police officers arrived the unnamed tenant demanded to take her bath before going to the police station.

The police officers did not allow the woman to bath and she immediately resisted arrest. Angry locals joined the tenant who attacked the officers on duty, it all ended with all three women stripped naked and beaten black and blue.

They are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital. The suspects were arrested; now they are waiting for trial. Speaking about the attack, the state’s Police Commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo, said the perpetrators would face the full wrath of the law.
